Illuminati

Rumors have it that the so-called group of Anti-Christ (or popularly known as the Illuminati) still exists to date. I know it sounds ridiculous for me to get into this kind of stuff. But with the internet being all accessible, no one can stop a curious mind like mine.

The convincing YouTube videos, commentaries, and articles floating around the World Wide Web is starting to get me all inquisitive and think that hey, this all make sense. Then, before I even know it the skepticism starts to grow on me. I start questioning different things. But of course, definitely, DEFINITELY not God.

The sudden increase in the level of my curiosity pushed me to do a not-so-serious research about the topic (you know, google-ing and stuff). And I was surprised that a lot of things came up.

Well, this whole Illuminati thing just makes the world more complex than it is. Apparently, the stardom of several popular celebrities, especially Hollywood celebrities, are said to be the effect of their affiliation with the infamous group. Not to mention, the death of some of these celebrities is also said to be one of the doings of the Illuminati as well.

Based from what I read, if you choose to surrender your soul to the devil, you have to make a couple of sacrifices. I'm not really sure what kind but I'm guessing its not pleasing.

Remember Aaliyah, 2pac, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, and Jimi Hendrix? Surprisingly, they are one of those celebrities who sold their soul to the devil to reach instant fame. I don't know if you noticed it, but see, they all passed away. Reports said that these celebrities eventually had a change of heart and chose to turn their back on the group. So the Illuminati did what they have to do... they killed them. I don't know if it's true but the death of Michael Jackson and 2pac in relation to this was very believable.

The recent death of Whitney Houston is actually being added to the list of those celebrities being said to be killed by the Illuminati. I don't really know how people find these things out. It sounds downright ridiculous but I can't help it, I'm CURIOUS!

The subliminal messages in different music videos and movies is actually the freaky part for me. I don't know if  the people who made those videos were just too skeptical about stuff but its just... its just too convincing.

Eminem, Rihanna, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Usher, Kesha, Jay Sean, You name it! They are all rumored to be part of the so-called group. Even local artists who've gone international like Charice, Manny Pacquiao, and Arnel Pineda were allegedly said to be part of it.

The existence of all these and the different rumors that they already took over the movie and music industry just to be able to play with people's minds is kind of absurd when you think about it. I'm having doubts at this very second 'cause everything sounds surreal.

Though it exists or not, all I know is that at the end of the day, I still have my faith with God, no matter what happens.

I'm just curious with all the New World Order stuff and I would want to read a book or watch documentaries to know more about what the fuss is all about.

Angels and Demons is definitely on my list.

I'm not asking you to believe in the things I just said. I, myself, is still doubtful of what I read over the internet. I don't really want to believe that they exists. But all the information I read is just crazy. So for now, I'm just curious. Lets leave it at that.

DOT's "It's more fun in the Philippines" Brouhaha

"It's more fun in the Philippines!" This is the new campaign that the Department of Tourism launched earlier today. I actually found the campaign good enough to boost the tourism here in our country. The tag line sounds simple and yet it creates this eagerness for people to start thinking about the reason why it is more fun in the Philippines. When I saw the millions of people hash tag-ing #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines on Twitter and people positively talking about it on Facebook, I was amazed on how much DOT is creating such a huge impact to the people. Kudos to them, I say.

I love how colorful they made the website. It follows the "its-more-fun-in-the-Philippines-vibe". The slideshow of photos in the header of the website with the captions was also nice and creative. But lo and behold, after a few hours, a 1950s tourism ad of Switzerland suddenly became viral over the internet. Apparently, the Swiss already claimed that it's more fun in their country. What are the odds?

I was saddened to know that DOT is again facing another rip-off controversy after the Pilipinas Kay Ganda campaign logo brouhaha. They were claiming that the ad was not at all intentionally copied from the Swiss. But I don't know, I'm kind of doubtful. Given that they already committed the same mistake before when the office was still under Secretary Alberto Lim, I'm just saying that MAYBE its not possible for them to do the same mistake again. Maybe they took another chance of ripping off another idea without knowing that people can find out soon, I don't know. I don't have anything against DOT, I applaud them for their effort in raising the bar for Philippine tourism but I just don't find what they did desirable (if ever they really did copy it from the Swiss). Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of "It's more fun in the Philippines" like what I said before but maybe, creating a more original idea would have been better. Perhaps developing the WOW Philippines campaign would've been better. I mean, okay, maybe everything was coincidental in DOT's part but knowing that the ad existed first in Switzerland, you can't stop people to assume that it is indeed a rip off. They should have researched more about the campaign first before releasing it to the public. Doing this would've been less painful for them.

It's not really a matter of copyright issues. Lets take a look at the bigger picture that maybe our country might be placed in a bad light because of this. Philippines might become an infamous copy cat of campaigns, slogans, logo, and the like of progressive countries. Who would want that, right? 

I'm not hating on DOT. It just makes me feel sad that they have to face another controversy like this. Maybe the right thing that we, Filipinos, can do is just support the campaign and forget about the existing Switzerland tourism ad. I mean, just let it go (I know I am). This way we could make the controversy die down a bit. We have to realize that the more we ridicule this issue, the more it'll become bigger and the more we're making our country look bad. Let's not be selfish for once. As the current Secretary of DOT, Ramon Jimenez, tweeted, "Tourism is successful in Thailand because their positive voice is louder than their negative voice." Maybe what we should do now is focus on the cause of the campaign and just support it. Never mind the Swiss, let's just prove that its MORE MORE FUN here in the Philippines.
