New year, FRESH start. Its that time again where we leave all those bad memories of 2011 behind us. The time where we start looking forward in creating more epic memories, as we mark the start of 2012. 2011 was quite a year. It was full of tough trials that either made us grow stronger or even weaker. But whatever that is, just be thankful that you are what you are now and you made it through one hell of a year.
I spent my New Year's Eve with my family, as usual. But this time, my sister (Abi) wasn't here with us to celebrate. It was kinda' sad but at least we got to talk to her over the phone. It was funny how we passed the phone around and wished her a Happy New Year with a bit of small talk asking how she's doing there. We had to speak fast as well 'cause the call only last for a specific amount of minutes, BUMMMER. But at least we still felt her presence.
I was also able to talk to my dad. It was awkward at first 'cause I really did not know what to say. I just told myself that it's a new year and I have to let all my anger go. So, I just wished him a happy new year and asked how he's holding up. I'm happy to know he's alright and enjoying the holidays. At least, he already got to settle himself. It was good to hear from him again and I was happy. After all, he's still my dad, nothing/No one could ever change that.

Of course, the good food that my mom and
manang prepared will always be there. My mom vowed that we're going to eat healthy this New Year's Eve but look at what happened. We had barbecue, spaghetti (white and red sauce), KFC chicken, shrimp, raisin bread and Contis Mango Bravo. The only thing healthy with what we ate last night were the steamed fish and vegetables. But I'm not complaining. Maybe it has really been a part of the New Year's Eve tradition to have yummy and fatty foods prepared. Besides, I have my CarbTrim with me. :)

We did not have much firecrackers last night 'cause our houseboy was on vacation. No one is brave enough to light the fireworks, at least for us girls. My brother and my Tito was already volunteering to be the one in charge in that area. But you know how paranoid moms get. So we just have to settle on playing around with Roman Candles and made our Lanterns flew all at the same time at exactly 1 o'clock in the morning. It was not our traditional New Year's Eve without the firecrackers but it was still fun! Good company, good food and lots of love, what more can I wish for?

2012 is officially here!!! Can you believe how time flies so fast? I do hope that this year would all offer us happiness and contentment in life. May this year be able to let us grow as a stronger and better person. May this year be also filled with laughter and joy instead of hatred and pain. Most especially, let this year be the time where we all strengthen our faith with God.
A whole new journey is upon us again. Let's all own it and make the most out of it 'cause at the end of the day what matters most is how you choose to live your year 2012. CHEERS! Happy New Year everyone! :)
