CAUTION: Thesis Writing in Progress

Thesis is quite a bumpy ride for all of us. "You're just months away from graduation!!!!", I always say to myself. This phrase has been working like a charm every time I want to motivate myself to get our thesis over and done. The thought of my name being called in a graduating ceremony, getting my diploma and shaking the hands of some DLSU chancellor never fails to boost my determination to finish our thesis.

Yes, I imagine my graduation day already happening inside my head.  

I know I've been saying how graduation is going to be a bittersweet event in my life, when the time comes. But as long as I'm not in that moment or close enough to that moment yet, let me use it as a way of motivating myself in finishing thesis and reach that time where I would be all like, "Oh! I will miss college!" "I will miss DLSU!" "I will miss thesis-ing!" Because clearly, as of today, everything's all the way around.  

Just last Wednesday, my thesis mates and I worked our ass off to finish the 2d draft of our paper. We slept over in Shar's condo and worked on our thesis all night long. We pulled an all night-er and somehow managed to finish certain parts of the paper. Of course, this would not be possible without the help of the 3 packs (or was it more than 3?) of Extra Joss we drank. It sure worked in the not-making-us-sleep-during-thesis-writing-part but the moment we wanted to rest for two hours, we had to pay the price of having a hard time resting properly. 

The time that we can actually rest and have a good night sleep from all the typing and thinking came and yet our brain is not letting us sleep. HOW IRONIC.

We were supposed to finish everything that day because we're going to pass it to our mentor the next day (Thursday). But unfortunately, no Extra Joss could make that possible. We're just too exhausted to finish everything and we don't want to finish it just for the sake of having something to pass. So we just decided to pass it on Friday, for us to have another day to finish it. I was also supposed to go home on Thursday but since we're not yet done with the paper (plus the scheduled transportation strike), I spent another night in Shar's condo.

You have no idea how sabaw we were. See my "tattoo" in the picture above? That's one of the very definition of how sabaw we were. (They call me KimberDy, BTW, if you're wondering why my name is spelled that way.) But yeah, that really helped us to feel sane with all the thinking that we have to do. 

My eyes were literally twinkling while I was in front of the laptop typing. If I could just stick a toothpick in my eye to keep them open, I would do it. 

Fortunately, we were able to finish everything that we need to cover in no time. It was around 12:40 am when we finalized everything. We were able to take longer rest (but still not enough) and printed the hundred pages worth of our blood, sweat, and tears. HUUZZZAH!  

THESIS = EXHAUSTIION! You don't know how fulfilling it is for us to see the printer printing each and every page of our paper. Its like seeing our baby being formed one-by-one. As Gollum would put, its OUR "PREEESYAAAS".

Its amazing how far we've come in the process of finishing our thesis. So far, its starting to be one hell of a journey. SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, CLASHING IDEAS, CONFUSION, AND THE LIKE. But regardless of all that, we're almost half way through in reaching THE goal.
