Dish a la Kimberly

I'm no chef nor am I a culinary student of some sort, but I sure love to bake. I think for those people who follows me on Twitter, it's already quite obvious because of my frequent Instagram-ing of our baking photos. (I apologize for flooding your Twitter feed, by the way.) I wish I could enroll myself in a culinary school after I finish my undergraduate degree. A short course on baking or even cooking actual dishes would suffice. Maybe its not a bad idea to explore the world of food after all, right? Maybe I could even go beyond baking cookies and start learning how to cook those fancy dishes. Oh! I can imagine placing a la Kimberly at the end of every dish I make.

My sister's a chef, so I'm guessing the influence somewhat came from her. And the rest perhaps came from too much Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen marathon. Oh, oh, I love the plating stuff too. I'm too shallow, I know. But culinary fascinates me so much.

An organizational communication student and a chef on the side. Isn't that interesting? I know I'm pretty adept in reading recipes and following them, so I think there's no harm in trying out a culinary school in the near future. But I'm quite poor in the measuring area, especially when you have to convert stuff. Numbers are really my number 1 enemy. I hate Math.

I've been baking cookies the past few weeks with my little sister. And I think, this has been the main reason of my great want to be a chef. Mixing stuff together and later seeing it as a whole new food amazes me. HAHAHA

Baking is starting to be one of our favorite hobbies, especially when my sister and I are both bored. So far, we're receiving great feedbacks. Not only does our family think our cookies are quite a treat but my sister's boyfriend can't get enough of it as well. He took home a bunch of cookies we baked and took home another batch the day after. I'm serious, it's kind of addicting. Our maids and the houseboy (who doesn't eat cookies, by the way) think we can even sell it within our village. If we did take our maids' advice, we'll be rich by now.

Actually, my little sister and I have been baking along with my big sister (Abi) before. But since, she already went to UAE for some chef job, we had to do it on our own. And like I said, even without the help of our chef sister, we're managing in being able to bake yummy cookies!

Well, I wish I could make this dream come true someday. It's already in my list of things I want to do when I'm independent. So my fingers are crossed!
