Considering that my mom is the kind of person who always see gas as an issue when it comes to picking us up, going all the way to Intramuros every Sunday (during that time) just to fetch my sister was a big deal.
Sometimes, I even wished that I was taking some exam myself just to have these perks. Oh insecurities! But it was nothing serious.
In a nutshell, we were like her very own entourage during her bar exam days.
Yes, we're one supportive family!
I remember how nervous she gets every time my mom reminds her how she's just months away until the exam results come out. I also recall the random, "Kim, malapit na lumabas bar exam results ko!!!" moments we had. And being her sister, I just try to keep her calm and positive as much as I can. It 'kinda worked this way, she rants, I keep her positive. She rants, I keep her positive. It's a cycle, really.
When we went to Cebu for 4 days, February 24-27, her bar exam results was confirmed to be released on February 28 which was a day after we come back to Manila. My sister was so nervous. You have no idea how much "Malapit na lumabas bar exam results ko!!" moments we had. She was so nervous that when we went to the Taoist Temple, she was desperate to ask the saints if she'll pass the exams. According to the person we asked to interpret the yellow paper chosen at the end of the "asking" process, he said that everything was smooth and that my sister will pass the bar exam. This is the gist of what he said, BTW. But apparently, that did not, in any way, made my sister calm. She was still so nervous and worried. Well, who wouldn't be this nervous when this very result will surely change her life... FOREVER.
February 28 came and my sister isn't the only one whose nervous. ALL OF US WERE LITERALLY ANXIOUS. I kept on calling my mom from time to time when I was in school just to ask if there was any news. And seeing the #2011barexam tweets in my twitter feed made my nervousness grow. Then BOOM, my mom broke the news that my sister freakin' passed. And it turns out, my mom knew about it waaaay before the results came out. Apparently, she has a friend from the SC that we did not even know! Even when we were in Cebu, she already knew and choose not to tell my sister yet. According to her, she just want to prolong my sister's "excitement". WOW! And I had to deal with her anxiousness for 4 consecutive days
Yes, we definitely have a lawyer in the family! I'm so happy for my sister. She definitely deserved it. Hello? She's the most diligent person I know and not to mention the smartest.
Finally, all the paranoia and anxiousness are gone! We can now officially call her Attorney Rayshel Margret T. Dy. We better have that table name plate made with "Atty. Rayshel Margret T. Dy" engraved on it.
I so know that she'll be one hell of a lawyer!
Yes, okay, I'm a stage sister.
