Being just a few months away from graduation, we all have to go through the life of being employed sometime in our lives. And at this very moment, I am already in that specific part of my life, practicum.
So for the benefit of those who are wondering why I'm MIA in school, I'm not on LOA nor did I graduate already, I'm not hospitalized, and etc. I appreciate the concern. Hahaha I'm just trying to complete my hours for practicum.
I knoow, I'm such a grown up!
I wouldn't call working in the real world new 'cause I have already experienced working in a company last summer just to have my own first hand experience.
Yes, I was excited enough to work that I did not wait for my practicum term to come.
The thing that is perhaps different from last summer, except for the tasks that I do and the company I work for, is that I have to jumble working in two organizations this time.
I'm a workaholic, like that.
Its quite tiring actually, 'cause I have to go to two different places in certain days. But I think, I'm starting to get a hang of it somehow. And I just try to view it this way, since I have to walk most of the time going to both of my jobs, I treat it as my early morning exercise. I want to be fit anyway, so this is kind of an alternative to the morning jogs I do when I was still bumming at home.
See most people would complain but me, I'm not, not even close. I love walking! I love it!
Mondays and Wednesdays are Makati days for me. These are actually the days where most of the 1 million foot steps I take to work and to Greenbelt happens. Well, if I'm getting dropped off to work/picked up from work, of course, I don't have to walk far enough. But well, my week was pretty much all walk, so far, so yeah.
Of course, I'm not complaining, I'm really not.
First day in the PR firm I work for was quite productive. I actually arrived a bit late for work, not really ideal but sh*t happens = TRAFFIC. Good thing, the people working there weren't in yet when I got there. Thank heavens.
I actually go to work along with my two thesis mates, Bam and Shar. I did not ride with them on our first day going to work (Makati) 'cause my sister was already willing to drop me off since she also works nearby. It was almost 9 in the morning when Bam and Shar caught me walking towards the building so we all went inside Pearl Bank Centre together and up to the elevator where the office is.
I WILL NO LONGER GO INTO DETAILS AND TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED AFTER WE WENT UP THE ELEVATOR 'CAUSE WE SWORE TO NEVER SPEAK OF IT EVER AGAIN.
There was nothing much to do on our first day. (Well, except for Bam.) They just made me do an event background for a client which I was able to accomplish in no time. Then, the rest of the day, I just spent it by perfecting the article I made and helping out Shar and Bam with their respective tasks.
Second day of work in Makati was a sick one, 'cause ... I was literally sick. I came down with a cold. I don't even know where it came from, last time I checked I was perfectly healthy. Its just weird how intense colds can get. Did you know that I was able to finish a roll of tissue paper? I was even having a headache and I believe I was also PMS-ing. So my day was pretty much, BLAH.

Oh yeah, this is what I looked like, HELLO! |
I really really can't imagine work without these ladies. And to think I was considering doing my practicum alone before. INSTANT DEATH!

Photobooth-ing at work with ze girls! :) |

Hi BAM! |

Look who's OP? |
My cold was just intense, I can't control it. I wish I took a picture of the plastic bag I brought with me for all the used tissue paper I had, just for you to see how wild my cold is.

See how puffy my eyes were? :| |
If there were two words to describe my first day at Museo Pambata, it would be busy and productive. Apparently, they had everything lined up for us. So all we have to do is accomplish as much as we can for the day. Plus, I'm so happy that we were able to start with our thesis as well.
My Tuesday and Thursday mornings will not be complete without Bam getting lost. She always gets lost, BTW. (So add Mondays and Wednesday as well.) I'm actually quite amazed that she still manages to be early enough for work unlike me, who's always late (MUST CHANGE, STARTING NEXT WEEK). She even calls herself Dora the Explorer every morning because of the so-called "adventure" she had to go through going to work.Oh! Not only going to work but going home coming from work as well.
Bam's text early in the morning: "Hi girls! I think I'm going to be late. I'm lost again." (But she never came late. :|) Well, the text isn't exactly this but you get the point.
Bam's text in the afternoon (going home): "F*CK! I don't know where I am. I took the taxi instead. I'm lowbatt na." Again, the text isn't exactly like this but the thought of every text she sent us is like this.
Oh! Bam! :) I'm sorry I had to be mean but you're just so hilarious.
Second day was another productive day for us. We managed to finish the newsletter that Miss Jianna asked us to lay-out via InDesign. Since we were all giddy and excited to see the actual product, we printed the "prototype" and it turned out to be pretty good. So, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Wee!
Of course, we also had some idle time to spare. We choose to take it easy somehow for us not to feel too overwhelmed with the tasks. So we usually spend our free time by randomly stalking people over Facebook/Twitter and make fun of Bam and her boy toys at the same time. This is actually starting to become a daily routine for us. So I thank God for giving us the internet and of course, for giving us, Bam as well. Hahahaha
This day was pretty much the same from our first day at Museo. I guess, the only thing different this time is Bam not getting lost on her way home and her phone made it through the day, fully charged and functioning. It was, according to her, an awesome day.
So basically, this is how my first week of work went by. And I'm glad that we were able to make it through a very tiresome week. HOOORAY FOR US! This is such an achievement for me, really. I feel so mature. Hopefully, next week would be more fun and interesting as well. I'm so looking forward to it.
